How do I check my resume's ATS score?

Upload your resume and paste the job description you are applying to. The scanner reads both, extracts the skills and keywords the posting asks for, and reports how many of them your resume actually contains, along with a match score out of 100. It takes about a minute and does not need a credit card.

What is a good ATS score?

There is no single number every employer uses, because the score depends entirely on the posting you are measured against. As a working target, aim for 80 or above on the job you are actually applying to. A high score against one posting and a low score against another is normal and is the point of scanning per job rather than once.

Is the resume checker free?

Will this tell me if an ATS can read my resume?

It will. Most applicant tracking systems read a resume top to bottom, left to right, and lose the thread on multi-column layouts, text inside images, and headers or footers carrying contact details. The checker flags formatting an ATS is likely to mishandle, separately from the keyword match.

Does it work for a CV as well as a resume?

Yes. The scanner reads the document and the posting, so the vocabulary you use for it makes no difference to the analysis. Upload a PDF or DOCX either way. Why does my resume score differently on two jobs?

Because the score measures your resume against one specific posting rather than against a general standard. Two roles with the same title often ask for different tools and different phrasing, so the same resume can score 90 on one and 60 on the other. That gap is the thing worth acting on.
